  1. Hey! I found your blog via Veggie Venture in the STL categroy. As a new veg, I'm not very familiar with the veg-sfriendly restaurants in the STL area. SO what are tour favs?

    Thanks,
    Julianne

  3. Hi Julianne! Welcome to being veg. I recently discovered Shangri-La Diner, which is almost completely vegetarian and vegan. Terrene is a swankier place with plenty of options. Mokabe's has a vegan brunch on Sundays. When I was vegetarian, Hacienda had lots of options, less so now that I'm vegan - I get nachos with no cheese. Atomic Cowboy has some good dishes - for vegan I get the Atomic Bowl with no cheese. El Scorcho and Burrito Loco will do burritos with no cheese for vegan. And Thai food is a good option as well. If you're interested in learning about vegan nutrition, Becoming Vegan is a great resource. Nice to hear from you!

  4. Thanks for your comment on my blog, Lisa! I look forward to exploring your blog more. I will be in St. Louis this June for a few days.

And I also answered your question on my blog, but thought I'd repost it here as well:

It's really easy, google gives you a couple of options for personalized news. One is google alerts, where you can choose a word or phrase and google will email you every time that word or phrase shows up in a news story. (Some people do this with their names, for example.) But what I've done is through Google news (google.com/news). When you go there, they give you an option to personalize your news, so you can create a section, as I have, to bring you only articles with the word vegan in them. I hope this helps!

  5. Hi Bazu! Thanks so much for the vegan news tip, what a great feature. I've bookmarked your blog for return visits too!
If I can provide any info about St. Louis prior to your visit just let me know. We have some great restaurants, festivals, and a growing foodie and live music scene. Our botanical garden also has a Niki exhibit of mosaic sculptures thru Oct which you can check out at http://www.mobot.org/events/NIKI/Niki.asp
